De Iljoesjin Il-18 is een groot turbopropvliegtuig dat voor het eerst vloog in 1957 en een van de bekendste Sovjetvliegtuigen van zijn tijd werd. De Il-18 was decennialang een van 's werelds belangrijkste vliegtuigen en werd op grote schaal geëxporteerd. Vanwege de duurzaamheid van het vliegtuig haalden veel exemplaren meer dan 45.000 vlieguren en blijft het type operationeel in zowel militaire als (in mindere mate) civiele capaciteiten. De opvolger van de Il-18 was de Ilyushin Il-62 met een groter bereik.

The Ilyushin Il-18 (NATO reporting name: Coot) is a large, four-engine turboprop airliner first flown in the mid-1950s. It was one of the Soviet Union’s most successful and enduring airliners, setting several world records for speed and lifting capacity. It became a workhorse for Aeroflot and was widely exported.
