Le Campana P-63 Kingcobra Il è un caccia statunitense sviluppato dalla Bell Aircraft nella seconda guerra mondiale dal Bell P-39 Airacobra nel tentativo di correggere le carenze di quell'aereo. Sebbene il P-63 non fosse stato accettato per l'uso in combattimento dalle United States Army Air Forces, fu adottato dalla Soviet Air Force.

Il suo nome in codice alleato era "Judy". Il D4Y fu uno dei bombardieri in picchiata più veloci della guerra, e solo i ritardi nel suo sviluppo ostacolarono il suo servizio, mentre il suo predecessore, il più lento Aichi D3A a marcia fissa rimase in servizio molto più a lungo del previsto. Galleria fotografica su un Flak 36, Il termine canone di 88 millimetri regroupe deux pièces d’artillerie de l’armée Allemande durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. A l’origine c’est une pièce à vocation antiaérienne. La grande polyvalence de ces deux pièces a fait qu’elles équipèrent toutes deux des blindés allemands dans la deuxième moitié de la guerre, dont le Tiger. La première, le 88mm Flak18 e le sue varianti, è una moneta antiaerea. È stato prodotto in gran numero ed è esso che è alla base della fama del "Flak 88 millimetri".
La seconde pièce, le Pak43/1 88mm et ses variantes, apparaît en 1943 et est une pièce orientée vers un usage antichar, tache où elle excelle, par contre son coté anti-aérien est délaissé. Arrivant plus tard que la première et étant moins polyvalente elle a été nettement moins produite que les pièces Flak 88mm. Le point commun à ces deux pièces est leur puissance de feu, leur grand pouvoir de pénétration ainsi que leur cadence de tir, de plus leur grande précision est remarquable pour l’époque. Elles ont souvent été confondues et appelées communément “88" par les armées alliées, alors que les Allemands les nommaient plutôt "acht acht" (huit-huit).

Questo caccia ad alta quota era armato con otto mitragliatrici da 12,7 mm che si sono rivelate molto utili negli intensi combattimenti che si sono verificati nei cieli europei. Dotato di serbatoi di caduta per una maggiore autonomia, il P-47D fu quindi in grado di scortare i bombardieri fino al confine tedesco. Il Thunderbolt permise anche a molti piloti alleati di diventare Assi. Gli equipaggi dei bombardieri afflitti giorno dopo giorno da intense intercettazioni tedesche, avrebbero osservato che la presenza del P-47 era di grande aiuto.
In 1943, the 8th Air Force was launching raids on Germany with its B17 and B24 from England. The aim was to destroy German main production factories. Unfortunately, losses during theses missions were very heavy and it became urgent to develop a fighter able to escort the bombers over enemy soil. The limited ranges of the Spitfire and P-38 Lightning did not make these fighters able to go further than Paris, leaving the bombers alone to fend for themselves for the rest of the flight. With the development of the P-47, this problem was overcome. The P-47 was the first single-seated fighter to be equipped with a supercharger, allowing it to fly at the same high altitude as the bombers.

Non solo perché era uno dei caccia più costruiti fino ad oggi (14.500 unità) ma perché era molto efficace nelle missioni di supporto al fuoco, al punto che alla fine divenne il suo ruolo principale come le sue prestazioni abbastanza deboli per un caccia non gli permettevano di competere con la sua controparte il P-51 Mustang. La sua finitura grezza e le sue dimensioni gli valsero il soprannome di Flagello (Jug era l'abbreviazione di Juggernaut).

Indiscutibilmente il bombardiere in picchiata di maggior successo mai visto il servizio di prima linea con qualsiasi arma aerea, il Douglas SBD Dauntless fu il flagello della flotta imperiale giapponese negli anni cruciali della guerra del Pacifico. Il rivoluzionario design interamente in metallo stressato dell'SBD mostrava una forza della cellula che lo rendeva un bombardiere in picchiata ideale, la sua ampia ala, con sezione centrale orizzontale e pannelli esterni nettamente affusolati con diedro, che vantavano flap perforati che fungevano anche da freni in picchiata durante i ripidi attacchi di bombardamento.
