Lla Boxeur est un véhicule blindé de combat multirôle conçu par un consortium international pour accomplir un certain nombre d’opérations grâce à l’utilisation de modules de mission installables. Les gouvernements participant au programme Boxer ont changé au fur et à mesure que le programme s’est développé. Le véhicule Boxer est produit par le groupe industriel ARTEC GmbH (technologie des véhicules blindés) et le programme est géré par l’OCCAR (Organisation conjointe de coopération en matière d’armement). ARTEC GmbH est basée à Munich ; ses sociétés mères sont Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH et Rheinmetall Military Vehicles GmbH du côté allemand, et Rheinmetall Defence Nederland B.V. pour les Pays-Bas. Dans l’ensemble, Rheinmetall détient une participation de 64 % dans la coentreprise.
