das 9K33 Osa is a highly mobile, low-altitude, short-range tactical surface-to-air missile system. It was developed in the Soviet Union in the 1970s and entered service in 1980. The system consists of six missiles mounted on a wheeled transporter erector launcher (TELAR) vehicle that can travel on roads or off-road. The missiles are guided by radio command and have infrared homing for terminal guidance. The system can engage targets at ranges of up to 10 km and altitudes of up to 5 km. The 9K33 Osa is designed to defend troops and installations from low-flying aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and drones. It can operate in all weather conditions and has a high degree of automation and mobility. The system has been exported to several countries and has seen combat in various conflicts around the world.
