The Rutan Voyager was a revolutionary, experimental aircraft designed by Burt Rutan and built by Scaled Composites. Its sole purpose was to complete a non-stop, non-refueled flight around the world. The design is highly distinctive, featuring a canard (forward wing) configuration, twin tail booms, and an extremely lightweight, high-strength structure built almost entirely from composite materials (graphite, Kevlar, and fiberglass).
