A mock-up of the brand MiniArt la maquette de char "Pz.Kpfw. Mk.III 749(e) Valentine III w/CREW" .

Version Beutepanzer (Captured Armored Vehicles) of the British infantry tank "Infantry Tank Mk.III Valentine" with the three crew members.

HistoryBased on the Cruiser Mk II tank, the Valentine was designed by the Vickers-Armstrong Company and proposed to the Ministry of War in February 1938. Its designers had tried to combine the weight of a Cruiser tank (so as to be able to reuse the suspensions and transmission elements) with the armour of an infantry tank, which produced a small vehicle with a cramped interior and a turret served by two men. Although its engine is weaker than that of the Matilda tank, because of its lighter armour it had the same top speed and was much easier and cheaper to produce.

The L 2 H 43 and L 2 H 143 “Krupp-Protze” (unofficial designation) was a six-wheeled German truck and artillery tractor used by German forces in World War II. It was powered by a 55 hp or 60 hp (since 1936) Krupp M 304 4-cylinder petrol engine. Its main purpose was to tow artillery, especially the PaK 36. It was also used to transport infantry and other utility uses. This vehicle was extensively used on the Eastern Front, North African campaign and in France and Sicily. The “Krupp-Protze” was of relatively advanced design. It was mass-manufactured between 1933 and 1941. Its fuel consumption was relatively high (24 Litres / 100 km on road) in comparison to the comparable Opel Blitz 1.5 t truck (16.5 liters / 100 km, produced 1938 – 1942). Total production was about 7,000 units.

A kit from the brand DRAGON Models the “Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.H Mid-Production Sep-Nov ’43”.

Dragon’s newest 1/35 Panzer IV Smart Kit shows such an Ausf.H variant. Specifically it’s a subtype produced from September-November 1943. While it uses a good number of components from previous Panzer IV kits, there are also newly tooled parts to enable an accurate rendering of this Ausf.H Mid-Production tank. The air filter is located on the right-hand side of the hull, which required the kit designers to remake the hull plate, for example. Slide-molded parts are widely resorted to, plus there are also metal parts such as the side skirts to give a true-to-scale thickness. This is another welcome arrival, allowing modelers to easily replicate a specific Panzer IV subject dating from the late 1943 timeframe.

A model from Trumpeter the "Sd.Kfz.6/2 3.7cm – TRUMPETER 05532".

The SdKfz 6 (Sonderkraftfahrzeug 6) was a halftrack used during World War II by Germany. It was designed to be used as the main tractor machine of the 105 mm FH artillery gun. However, its construction price proved to be far too high and it was abandoned for other types of half-tracks. However, the existing vehicles were kept in the German army.
