Le Howitzer 105 mm M2A1, ou M101, est un obusier de calibre 105 mm qui a été utilisé sur tous les fronts de l’armée américaine pendant toute la Seconde Guerre mondiale. De conception classique et robuste, il avait pour seul défaut son poids important. Il était pourtant d’un transport aisé, très précis et extrêmement fiable et robuste : le M2A1 est encore utilisé dans certaines armées, y compris de l’OTAN, plus de 50 ans après l’arrêt de la production.

Histoire:

The Jagdpanzer IV, Sd. Kfz. 162, was a German tank destroyer based on the chassis of the Panzerkampfwagen IV which was built in three main versions during World War II. It was developed despite the opposition of Heinz Guderian, Inspector General of the Panzertruppen, to replace the StuG III. Guderian felt it unnecessary to distract from the resources of the Panzer IV production because, in his view, the StuG III and StuG IV were still fully playing their part.

Dragon has already produced a 1/35 scale Sd.Kfz.10/5 in plastic, and it was warmly received by modelers. Dragon has now taken the Sd.Kfz.10/5 a step further by releasing a kit of the halftrack with the specially armored cab. The design team made full utilization of high-quality engineering for this armored version that had steel plates around the cab and over the radiator. The kit’s fully detailed, and even internal components like the engine and gearbox that are normally hidden beneath the armor are there. Of course, it also makes use of Dragon’s world-famous 2cm FlaK 38 kit. Upgraded road wheels and Magic Tracks from the earlier kit have resulted in a spectacular halftrack that possesses a very different appearance to the regular Sd.Kfz.10/5. Designed to hit low-flying Allied aircraft, this vehicle offers better protection for its crew and a novel appearance for the model-maker!

Dragon has created a “killer kit” with a 1/35 scale version of this important tank destroyer! It’s based on the company’s Panzer IV Smart Kit family, but it boasts a great many new parts. As a Smart Kit, there’s a one-piece lower hull, convenient Magic Tracks and on-vehicle tools featuring crisp detail. The fighting compartment is made by slide mold so that no multipart assembling is necessary. The schurzen side screens follow the same design of those used on the Panzer IV J Late Production kit (Item No.6575), these having already attracted praise from modelers. Of special interest, too, is the MP44 Vorsatz “P”. This mounted weapon with a curved barrel could be used to protect blind-spots not covered by the mounted MG42 machine gun. The gun breech is fully represented, and it can be viewed through the open roof hatches. This Panzer IV L/70(A) was announced earlier in 2011, and the wait has been well worth it!

The Kriegsmarine est le nom allemand de la marine de guerre allemande entre 1935 et 1945, sous le Troisième Reich. Elle était sous l’autorité du ministère du Reich à la Guerre. La mission principale que tenta de remplir la Kriegsmarine durant ce conflit fut de couper les lignes de ravitaillement du Royaume-Uni dans ce qui fut appelé la seconde bataille de l’Atlantique principalement avec sa flotte de sous-marins (U-boot) et de tenter de stopper les convois de l’Arctique à destination de l’URSS; En France, durant l’occupation, la Kriegsmarine recruta des Français: environ 30 000 ouvriers, manœuvres… dans les chantiers navals, les ports, les bases de sous-marins… 200 hommes dans le Kriegsmarinenewerftpolizei (KWM) qui est une unité de police.

The M-51 was also referred to as the Isherman (i.e. Israeli Sherman). However, the designations “Super Sherman” and “Isherman” were never used by the Israeli Defense Forces.

Heinkel He 112 is an interwar military aircraft, a fighter aircraft designed by Walter and Siegfried Gonter. It was one of four competing aircraft in the Luftwaffe tender in 1933, which was eventually won by the Messerschmitt Bf 109. A small number were used for a short period of time by the Luftwaffe, and small series have been carried out for several other countries, but fewer than 100 have been built in total. This remains one of the least known hunter designs.

Le SdKfz 171 Panzer V Panther était un char de combat utilisé par l’armée allemande pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, de juillet 1943 lors de la bataille de Koursk, au 8 mai 1945. Conçu pour contrer le char T-34 soviétique et remplacer les Panzerkampfwagen III et les Panzerkampfwagen IV, il servit en définitive à leurs côtés, jusqu’à la fin de la guerre, en trois versions principales : « D », « A », « G ».

Une dernière version « F » ou « Panther II » était prévue, avant le remplacement définitif du « Panther » par le char « E-50 ».
La version Ausf.G : 2 950 exemplaires à partir de mars 1944. Simplification de production : plaque d’un seul tenant sur les flancs — on ne trouve plus le décroché vertical à l’arrière; la plaque frontale perd le bloc de vision du conducteur, remplacé par un périscope sur le toit du poste de pilotage ; les Schurzen sont fixées sur une lame d’acier qui court le long des flancs ; le phare est descendu sur le garde boue ; le pot d’échappement de gauche n’a plus qu’un seul tuyau; la plage arrière est redessinée. Production tardive : déflecteur de coups au bas de la face avant de la tourelle, pour éliminer le piège qui faisait dévier les obus ennemis vers le toit de la superstructure. Sur une vingtaine d’engins de fin de production, les galets de roulement à bandage de caoutchouc sont remplacés par des galets « tout acier ».

The Tiger I (Tigre), diminutif de Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausführung E – Sonderkraftfahrzeug 181, char d’assaut lourd allemand en service de 1942 à 1945, est l’un des chars les plus connus de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, bien qu’il n’ait été que peu produit par rapport au T-34 soviétique ou au Sherman américain. Ce sont ses dimensions, ses lignes très carrées, sa résistance au combat, sa puissance ainsi que les équipages expérimentés l’ayant mené au feu qui ont marqué les esprits, notamment du fait de la propagande allemande.

Its development began in 1937 and, when it first appeared on the front line, on August 29, 1942, near Leningrad, the Tiger I is the most technically advanced, best protected and most powerful tank aligned by the Axis, displaying limited but exceptional mobility for a craft that is more than twice the weight of its predecessors and the majority of its tracked opponents.
