Den Boxare är ett pansarstridsfordon med flera roller som konstruerats av ett internationellt konsortium för att utföra ett antal operationer genom användning av installerbara uppdragsmoduler. De regeringar som deltar i Boxerprogrammet har förändrats i takt med att programmet har utvecklats. Boxerfordonet tillverkas av industrikoncernen ARTEC GmbH (armoured vehicle technology) och programmet leds av OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation). ARTEC GmbH är baserat i München; Dess moderbolag är Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH och Rheinmetall Military Vehicles GmbH på den tyska sidan och Rheinmetall Defence Nederland B.V. för Nederländerna.
