Komisia K2 Čierny panter (Hangul: K2 "흑표"; Hanja: K2 '黑豹') je juhokórejský hlavný bojový tank novej generácie navrhnutý Juhokórejskou agentúrou pre rozvoj obrany a vyrobený spoločnosťou Hyundai Rotem. Vyvinutý ako moderný hlavný bojový tank, ktorý nahradí väčšinu zostávajúcich tankov M48 Patton a doplní sériu hlavných bojových tankov K1, ktoré v súčasnosti namierila juhokórejská armáda, K2 Black Panther kombinuje auto-naloženú hlavnú zbraň kalibru 55 120 mm, pokročilé kompozitné pancierovanie spolu s tvrdými a mäkkými aktívnymi ochrannými systémami. Masová výroba sa začala v roku 2013 a prvé K2 boli rozmiestnené s ozbrojenými silami v júni 2014. K2 stojí viac ako 8,5 milióna USD na jednotku, čo z neho robí jeden z najdrahších hlavných bojových tankov v prevádzke, akéhokoľvek národa.

General Characteristics
The K2 Black Panther is a modern Main Battle Tank developed by Hyundai Rotem for the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) to replace older tanks and complement the K1 series. Designed as a 4th-generation MBT, it incorporates advanced domestic and foreign technologies, notably a high-velocity 120 mm gun with an autoloader, sophisticated composite armor, and a hydropneumatic suspension system that allows for posture control. It is considered one of the most technologically advanced and expensive tanks in the world.

Armament and Fire Control

Protection and Mobility

- Suspension: Semi-active In-arm Suspension Unit (ISU), which allows the tank to “kneel” or tilt to adjust the gun’s elevation/depression.
- Deep Fording: Equipped with an elaborate snorkel system that allows it to cross rivers and water obstacles up to 4.1–5 meters deep.
