General Characteristics
The Embraer KC-390 Millennium (originally designated KC-390) is a Brazilian twin-engine jet-powered military transport and aerial refueling aircraft. Developed by Embraer, it is designed to replace older turboprop platforms like the **Lockheed C-130 Hercules** by offering superior speed, range, and payload capacity. Unlike most medium airlifters that use turboprops, the KC-390 uses turbofan engines, allowing it to fly faster and higher. It is a highly versatile aircraft, equipped with a full fly-by-wire system and rugged landing gear that allows operations from semi-prepared and damaged runways. The KC-390 designation is used for the variant configured for air-to-air refueling (Tanker – K) missions.
