De Iljin Il-2 was a ground-attack aircraft (Shturmovik) in the Second World War, produced by the Soviet Union in very large numbers. In combination with its successor, the Ilyushin Il-10, a total of 42,330 were built, making it the single most produced military aircraft design in all of aviation history, as well as one of the most produced piloted aircraft in history along with the American postwar civilian Cessna 172 and the Soviet’s own Polikarpov Po-2 biplane, sometimes seen side-by-side with the big armored Ilyushin design on the front lines. The Shturmovik is regarded as the best ground attack aircraft of World War II. It was a prominent aircraft for tank killing with its accuracy in dive bombing and its guns being able to penetrate tanks’ thin top armor.

De Boeing AH-64 Apache is een vierbladige, tweemotorige aanvalshelikopter met een landingsgestelopstelling van het staartwieltype en een tandemcockpit voor een tweekoppige bemanning. Oorspronkelijk begon de Apache zijn leven als het Model 77 ontwikkeld door Hughes Helicopters voor het Advanced Attack Helicopter-programma van het Amerikaanse leger om de AH-1 Cobra te vervangen, en werd voor het eerst gevlogen op 30 september 1975. De AH-64 werd in april 1986 geïntroduceerd in dienst van het Amerikaanse leger.

De Grumman F-14 Kater is a supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, variable-sweep wing fighter aircraft. The Tomcat was developed for the United States Navy’s Naval Fighter Experimental (VFX) program following the collapse of the F-111B project. The F-14 was the first of the American teen-series fighters which were designed incorporating the experience of air combat against MiG fighters during the Vietnam War. The F-14 first flew in December 1970 and made its first deployment in 1974 with the U.S. Navy aboard USS Enterprise (CVN-65), replacing the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II. The F-14 served as the U.S. Navy’s primary maritime air superiority fighter, fleet defense interceptor and tactical reconnaissance platform. In the 1990s, it added the Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night (LANTIRN) pod system and began performing precision ground-attack missions.

The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) is main branch of the Japan Self-Defense Forces responsible for land-based military operations. It is the de facto army of Japan. The largest of the three services of the Japan Self-Defense Forces, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force operates is tasked with maintaining internal security in Japan and operates under the command of the chief of the ground staff, based in the city of Ichigaya, Tokyo. The present chief of ground staff is General Eiji Kimizuka (Japanese: 君塚 栄治). The JGSDF numbered around 148,000 soldiers as of 2008. The JGSDF was created on July 1, 1954. Up until the end of the Cold War, its primary concern was maintaining internal security in Japan and countering a Soviet invasion of Hokkaido.

De Ordnance Quick-Firing 6-pounder 7 cwt, of slechts 6 ponder, was een Brits 57 mm kanon, hun primaire antitankkanon tijdens het midden van de Tweede Wereldoorlog, evenals de belangrijkste bewapening voor een aantal gepantserde gevechtsvoertuigen. Het werd voor het eerst gebruikt in Noord-Afrika in april 1942 en verving snel de 2 ponder in de antitankrol, waardoor de 25 ponder kon terugkeren naar zijn beoogde artillerierol. Het Leger van Verenigde Staten keurde ook 6 pdr als primair antitankkanon onder de benoeming goed 57 mm Kanon M1.

De Panzer II is the common name used for a family of German tanks used in World War II. The official German designation was Panzerkampfwagen II (abbreviated PzKpfw II). Although the vehicle had originally been designed as a stopgap while larger, more advanced tanks were developed, it nonetheless went on to play an important role in the early years of World War II, during the Polish and French campaigns. The Panzer II was the most numerous tank in the German Panzer divisions beginning with the invasion of France. It was used in both North Africa against the British and on the Eastern Front against the Soviet Union. The Panzer II was supplemented by the Panzer III and IV in 1940/41. Thereafter, it was used to great effect as a reconnaissance tank. By the end of 1942 it had been largely removed from front line service and it was used for training and on secondary fronts. Production of the tank itself ceased by 1943 but its chassis remained in use as the basis of several other armored vehicles chiefly self-propelled artillery such as the Wespe and Marder II.

Fiat 508 "Balilla" is de populairste auto die in de jaren dertig in Italië werd geproduceerd. In juni 1937 werd de nieuwe "Balilla" 508C, uitgerust met een 4 cilinder motor van 1.100 cc., op de automarkt geïntroduceerd. Verder is de nieuwe 508C gebruikt als platform voor de ontwikkeling van voertuigen voor militaire toepassingen zoals Fiat 508 CM "Coloniale". Gekenmerkt door een 2-wielaandrijving tractie, een lengte van 3,6 meter en de betrouwbare 1.100cc 4-cilinders motor, in staat om 32 pk te leveren waardoor het 90 km / h kon bereiken, fiat "Coloniale" werd vooral gebruikt voor de mobiliteit van officieren en voor HQ-operaties in Noord-Afrika. De algehele sterkte van het voertuig, de grotere afmetingen van de banden en de betrouwbaarheid van de goede mechanica hadden Fiat "Coloniale" echter geschikt gemaakt voor geavanceerde verkenningstaken in off-road terrein.
