A Polaris RZR (ejtsd: "borotva") a Polaris Industries által gyártott sport. Amikor 2007-ben 2008-as modellként piacra dobták, hivatalosan Ranger RZR néven ismerték, mivel a nagyobb, munkaorientált Ranger almodelljeként forgalmazták. Ahogy az RZR egyre népszerűbbé vált, a Polaris végül elhagyta a Ranger jelölést, és az RZR-t önálló modellként pozícionálta.
Az Egyesült Államok Különleges Műveleti Parancsnoksága (US) SOCOM 2013 szeptemberében megrendelést adott a Polaris Defense-nek legfeljebb 1,500 MRZR-2 (2 üléses) és MRZR-4 (4 üléses) gépre. Ezeknek az új kis katonai járműveknek nagy hátránya volt, hogy megtartották eredeti benzinmotorjaikat, amelyek összeegyeztethetetlenek a szokásos katonai JP-8 üzemanyaggal. Logisztikai szempontból két különböző üzemanyagtípus nyilvánvalóan nem ideális. Mivel kevés ilyen gép lát harci használatot, és a polgári felhasználók nem érdekeltek abban, hogy dízellel üzemeltessék őket, a motorcserét valószínűtlennek tartották.

The Polaris MRZR (pronounced M-R-Z-R) is a series of highly mobile, lightweight tactical all-terrain vehicles developed by Polaris Defense.
