Galerie de photos d’un Leopard 2E, Le Léopard 2E (E signifie España, espagnol pour l’Espagne) est une variante du char de combat principal allemand Leopard 2, adapté aux besoins de l’armée espagnole, qui l’a acquis dans le cadre d’un programme de modernisation de l’armement nommé Programa Coraza, ou breastplate programme. Le programme d’acquisition du Leopard 2E a débuté en 1994, cinq ans après l’annulation du programme de chars Lince qui a abouti à un accord de transfert de 108 Leopard 2A4 à l’armée espagnole en 1998 et a commencé la production locale du Leopard 2E en décembre 2003. Malgré le report de la production en raison de la fusion en 2003 entre Santa Bárbara Sistemas et General Dynamics, et la poursuite des problèmes de fabrication entre 2006 et 2007, 219 Leopard 2E ont été livrés à l’armée espagnole.
