The EE-T1 Osório was a Brazilian main battle tank prototype developed by Engesa in the 1980s. It was designed to meet the requirements of the Saudi Arabian market, which was looking for a modern and cost-effective tank to replace its aging AMX-30s. The EE-T1 Osório featured a modular design with a steel hull and composite armor blocks, a hydro-pneumatic suspension system, and a choice of two turrets with either a 105 mm or a 120 mm gun. The tank was powered by a 12-cylinder MWM diesel engine that gave it a top speed of 70 km/h and a range of 550 km. The tank had a crew of four: a driver, a commander, a gunner, and a loader. The EE-T1 Osório was tested by several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Libya, and Algeria, but it never received any orders. The project was eventually cancelled due to financial difficulties and political obstacles. The EE-T1 Osório remains as one of the most ambitious and innovative tank projects in South America.
