General Characteristics (WWI to WWII Era)

The QF 3.7-inch Howitzer was a standard British and Commonwealth mountain gun. Its key design requirement was the ability to be broken down into eight to ten mule-portable loads for transport across rough, mountainous terrain where wheeled vehicles could not operate.
