General Characteristics

The Avia B-33 was the Czechoslovak-built, licensed version of the Soviet Ilyushin Il-10 “Beast,” a heavily armored, single-engine ground attack aircraft developed at the end of World War II. Produced by Avia in the early Cold War era, the B-33 served as a primary close air support platform for Czechoslovakia and was also exported to other Eastern Bloc nations.

Design and Powerplant
