The Mirage 2000D is a two-seat fighter-bomber aircraft developed by Dassault Aviation for the French Air Force. It is a variant of the Mirage 2000N, which is designed for nuclear strike missions. The Mirage 2000D is optimized for conventional attack with precision-guided munitions, such as laser-guided bombs and air-to-ground missiles. The Mirage 2000D entered service in 1993 and has participated in several conflicts, including the Gulf War, the Kosovo War, the War in Afghanistan, and the Libyan Civil War. The Mirage 2000D has a delta wing configuration and a single SNECMA M53-P2 turbofan engine, which provides a maximum speed of Mach 2.2 and a combat radius of 1,850 km.
The Mirage 2000D is equipped with a Thales RDY multimode radar, a Damocles targeting pod, and a Sagem navigation and attack system. The Mirage 2000D can carry up to 6,300 kg of weapons on nine hardpoints, including air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, anti-ship missiles, laser-guided bombs, cluster bombs, and rocket pods. The Mirage 2000D also has a twin-barrel 30 mm DEFA cannon with 125 rounds. The Mirage 2000D has a crew of two: a pilot and a weapon systems officer. The cockpit has two Martin-Baker Mk10 zero-zero ejection seats and a glass cockpit with multifunction displays and a head-up display. The Mirage 2000D has a length of 14.55 m, a wingspan of 9.13 m, and a height of 5.20 m. The Mirage 2000D has an empty weight of 7,500 kg and a maximum takeoff weight of 17,000 kg.
