The USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) is the third ship of the Wasp class amphibious assault ships, and 257.3 m long, 42.7 meters wide, full-load displacement of 40,500 tons, a crew of 1077. The ship is equipped with a hovercraft and mechanized landing craft and equipped with a V-22 Osprey, AH-1 and AV-8B fighter. In addition to air and sea integrated delivery capability, landing forces can also provide aerial fire support.In addition to the routine operational tasks USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) can also be used with or alternative to the U.S. aircraft carrier battle groups to perform maritime command and control tasks.

The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a carrier-based fighter aircraft developed to replace the earlier F4F Wildcat in United States Navy service. It was a completely new design powered by a 2,000 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800. The Hellcat was the first Navy fighter for which the design took into account lessons from combat with the Japanese Zero. The Hellcat proved to be the most successful aircraft in naval history, destroying 5,271 aircraft while in service with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps.

From 1936, the RRT was developed by Saurer as an artillery tractor for the Austrian army. Testing was completed and in 1937, an order was placed for the tractors which were manufactured in 1938. About 12 vehicles were made prior to “Anschluss”. After Austria was incorporated into Germany in 1938, the vehicle continued to be manufactured. Records indicate that a total of 140 units were built. The new designator for Germany was Sd Kfz 254. Notable features of this tank were its wheel-cum-track layout and a diesel motor.

Ten 8.8 cm Flak 18 anti-aircraft guns were mounted on pedestals on DB s8 and DB 9 chassis in 1939 as the 8.8 cm Flak 18 (Sfl.) auf Zugkraftwagen 12t (Sd.Kfz.8) for anti-tank duties. A gun shield was provided for the 88, but the gun crew had no other protection. All ten were assigned to the first company of the anti-tank battalion Panzerjäger-Abteilung 8 which participated in the Invasion of Poland in 1939, the Battle of France in 1940 and Operation Barbarossa in 1941.
