Supermarine Spiteful F.MK.14 Fighter

A model of the brand Trumpeter the kit: «Supermarine Spiteful F.MK.14 Fighter».

Features : The kit consists of over 80 parts , includes 7 clear parts – fuselage&wing with finely engraved panel lines

The Supermarine Spiteful was a British Rolls-Royce Griffon-engined fighter aircraft. In late 1942, Supermarine designers feared the drag characteristics of the Spitfire’s wing at high Mach numbers (nearing the speed of sound) might become a limiting factor in increasing the aircraft’s high-speed performance. To overcome this, it was decided to produce a new laminar-flow wing, much like that already used on the North American P-51 Mustang, Another change, to improve the ground-handling, was replacing the Spitfire’s narrow-track, outward-retracting undercarriage with a wider-track, inward-retracting system. as it was now substantially different from a Spitfire, the aircraft was named Spiteful.

Features: The kit consists of over 90 parts, includes 7 clear parts -Detailed fuselage&wing w/accurate design -Detailed gear cabin & cockpit

The F8F Bearcat was the last of Grumman’s piston-engine carrier-based fighters. Two XF8F-1 prototypes were ordered in November 1943, and the first of these was flown on 21 August 1944. Grumman decided once again to utilize the most powerful engine available at the time, the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp — the same engine that had powered both their Hellcat and Tigercat designs. This time, the engine was fitted to the smallest, lightest airframe that could be built. This resulted in a highly maneuverable, fast airplane with a rate of climb 30% greater than the Hellcat.

The US Army entered WWII with the M3 Stuart Light Tank, which worked well, but was tall and noisy. Not ideal features of a reconnaissance vehicle and not rectified in the later M5 series. A new Light Tank was specified in 1943 using the M5 powertrain, but with a sleek new hull and turret. This was to emerge as the Light Tank M24. The noisy VVSS was replaced with a new torsion bar suspension, and weight was kept to 20 tons. Firepower was greatly increased by mounting a light weight 75mm gun using the same ammunition as the M4 Sherman. The M24 was well received by its crews, but it arrived too late to see much action, the first tanks arriving in Europe by November 1944. A few were passed on to the British and Free French before the war ended. Armour was up to 25mm thick and the road speed up to 56k/mh, maximum road range was 161 kilometers. A total of 4,731 M24’s were built by the end of WWII. The chassis was used for a whole range of Self-Propelled Guns and weapon carriers.
