Photo Gallery of a Nieuport 23, The Nieuport 23 was a fighter aircraft produced in France during the First World War. It was a development of the Nieuport 17 intended to address structural weakness of the earlier type, and most were produced with a lighter version of the Le Rhône 9J engine that powered the Nieuport 17, offering a better power-to-weight ratio. Internally, the main difference between the Types 17 and 23 was a redesigned wing spar in the upper wing.

Although initially viewed as a near failure by the War Office in 1936, the M20 evolved into one of the longest serving motorcycles in the history of British military motorcycling, as well as becoming the most numerous type produced for World War II with 126,000 in active service. Many are still in use around the world today.

The Ki-43 Hayabusa ou chasseur type 1 ou encore Oscar était un chasseur de l’armée de terre japonaise, cousin du célèbre Zéro de la marine. Il fut conçu à la même période selon la même philosophie et utilisait les mêmes équipements : moteur, armes etc… Le Ki-43 était un appareil bien né, tirant les enseignements de « l’incident de Nomonhan » : une guerre rapide avec la Russie en 1939. Le Ki-43 succéda donc au Ki-27 au train d’atterrissage fixe. Il était ainsi équipé de réservoirs-obturants (en toile sur le modèle I, en caoutchouc à partir modèle II) et d’un train rentrant. La philosophie était de favoriser à tout prix la maniabilité au détriment de la protection du pilote. La structure était légère, facilement inflammable même s’il possédait des réservoirs auto-obturants. Il était prévu dès le départ que l’armement soit de 2 canons Ho-103 de 12.7 mais des retards dans la fabrication de cette arme firent que les versions purent avoir une 7.7 en lieu et place d’une 12.7 (Ki-43 Ib).

Photo Gallery of a Norton (WD)16H Motorcycle, The Norton 16H is a designation given to British motorcycles made between 1911 through to 1954 with various modifications and refers to a single cylinder Norton 490cc side valve engine with a bore and stroke of 79 x 100 mm. The H denotes the Home model as distinct from the Colonial export model. Norton was the main military motorcycle supplier prior to WW2 and one of the main suppliers of motorcycles to the British Army in World War II with a total of nearly 100,000 produced. British Army Nortons were also supplied to the Commonwealth forces such as Australian, New Zealand, India and the Canadian Army.
