Den PT-13D had a maximum speed of 124 miles per hour, a cruising speed of 96 miles per hour, and a range of 505 miles. The PT-13D had no armament, but it could carry two 100-pound bombs for training purposes. The PT-13D was one of the most widely used trainers in the US military, with over 8,000 units built. The PT-13D was also exported to several countries, including Canada, Brazil, China, and the Philippines. The PT-13D was known for its reliability, maneuverability, and ease of maintenance. The PT-13D was nicknamed the “Kaydet” by the Navy, and the “Yellow Peril” by the Army Air Forces because of its bright yellow color scheme.
