The M-46 has a maximum range of 27.5 km with conventional ammunition and 38 km with rocket-assisted projectiles. The gun has a split-trail carriage that allows for a wide traverse angle and a quick deployment. The M-46 is operated by a crew of eight and can fire up to six rounds per minute.
