It was designed by Mack Trucks, an American manufacturer with a long history of producing reliable and durable trucks. The Mack NO 7½-ton 6×6 truck was mainly used as an artillery tractor, capable of towing heavy guns such as the 155 mm gun, the 8 inch howitzer, the 8 inch gun, and the 240 mm howitzer. It could also carry a crew of five soldiers and a cargo of ammunition or supplies.
The Mack NO 7½-ton 6×6 truck had a robust and rugged design, with a hooded front engine, a large driver cabin, and a rear cargo area.
