The Bell-Agusta BA 609 is a tiltrotor aircraft that combines the vertical take-off and landing capabilities of a helicopter with the speed and range of a fixed-wing airplane. It is designed for civil and military applications, such as search and rescue, offshore transport, executive transport, and surveillance. The BA 609 can carry up to nine passengers and two crew members, and has a maximum speed of 509 km/h and a range of 1390 km. The BA 609 is the result of a joint venture between Bell Helicopter and AgustaWestland, and is expected to enter service in 2023.
