Panzerkampfwagen 35(t)

This is a limited edition re-release of the 1/35 scale German Panzerkampfwagen 35t

Riveted construction and bogie-type suspension reproduced. Tracks feature one-piece straight sections for ease of assembly. Following Germany’s annexation of Czechoslovakia, the German army modified various Czech-made military hardware and pressed them into service. Among these was the LTvz.35 light tank built by Skoda, which was re-designated as the Pz.Kpfw.35(t). With an armament of one 37mm main gun and two 7.92mm machine guns and a 120hp liquid-cooled gasoline engine enabling a maximum speed of 34km/h, this light tank’s capabilities were on par with the German army’s Panzer III medium tanks. At the start of WWII, the 6th Panzer Division was equipped with about 200 of these tanks and they were used during the invasions of Poland and France, as well as the early stages of the invasion of Russia.

U.S. Aircraft Carrier Yorktown

1/700 scale plastic assembly kit of the Yorktown (CV-5) as she appeared during the Battle of Midway. Hanger doors may be depicted in open or closed position. Elevator at the stern may be depicted in up or down position. Comes with parts to depict F4F Wildcats, Douglas SBD-3 Dauntlesses, and Douglas TBD-1 Devastators.

2007 USS Yorktown was completed in September 1937 as the first ship of her namesake-class and the U.S. Navy’s sixth aircraft carrier. When the Pacific War broke out, she became the flagship of Task Force 17 under the command of Rear Admiral Frank J. Fletcher and conducted a number of operations around the Pacific. During the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942, she helped thwart the Japanese Navy’s advance on New Guinea despite suffering severe damage. Subsequently, at the Battle of Midway, the Yorktown and her sister ships USS Enterprise and USS Hornet defeated the Japanese Mobile Fleet, but the Yorktown herself suffered severe damage by torpedo and bomb hits from the aircraft of the Japanese carrier Hiryu. She was finally sunk by torpedoes from the Japanese submarine I-168. The Tamiya 1/700 scale model is a precise replica assembly kit of this iconic carrier during WWII.

Her four twin 20.3cm guns were located at the bow to enable unhindered operation of up to 6 floatplanes at the stern. Her design also enabled a top speed of 35 knots and a long range. She was assigned to the Carrier Mobile Fleet with her sister ship Tone. During the Pearl Harbor Attack in December 1941, her floatplanes carried out pre-attack reconnaissance over the Pearl Harbor, which greatly contributed to the IJN’s success of the operation. She was also active during the Battle of Midway and the Solomon Islands campaign. During the Battle of the Leyte Gulf in October 1944, she was the flagship of Admiral Kurita’s fleet and contributed to the sinking of the USS Gambier Bay but she was in turn damaged by torpedoes and scuttled off the coast of Samar Island.

Ilyushin IL-2 Shturmovik

Model depicts a late variant of the Ilyushin IL-2 Shturmovik (two-seat cockpit and swept outer wings) 3 kinds of canopies included and each may be depicted in either open or closed position. Highly-detailed cockpit accurately depicts the fuel tank positioned between pilot and gunner. Radiator and oil cooler reproduced accurately. Includes 2 kinds of covers for 23mm cannons. Parts for 100kg and 250kg bombs included. 3 kinds of rocket launcher parts included, Comes with 3 decal marking options.

2007 Ilyushin Il-2 was one of the most significant ground-attack aircraft of WWII. It incorporated a sturdy monocoque construction and excellent armor protection to make it perfect for ground attack operations. It was initially conceived as a two-seat design but due to weight issues it was re-designed as a lighter single-seat aircraft in 1940. As production began in 1941, the aircraft was designated as the Il-2. Heavy losses of the single-seat aircraft during combat forced the addition of a rear gunner position in 1943. Later variants featured improvements such as swept outer wings for better handling. The Il-2 contributed greatly to the eventual Russian victory over Nazi Germany. Joseph Stalin himself famously noted that the aircraft was as vital to the Russian Army as air and bread.

A kit from the brand Roden kit : «Beechcraft SD17S – Roden 448».

Beechcraft SD17 Staggerwing: American single-engine floatplane converted from the basic model with a standard wheeled undercarriage. The main feature of such a machine was its ability to take off and land on small lakes and reservoirs. The first SD17 appeared in 1934, and afterwards a good number of Staggerwings were converted to floatplanes. With the beginning of WWII, along with other civil machines, they were requisitioned by the government for military needs, and they were used in lakeland areas and also in Alaska, mainly as patrol airplanes. Apart from the USA, Staggerwing floatplanes were used in Canada and Australia. The last machines of this type continued to carry out commercial flights up until the early 1970s.
