A Spitfire-rel együtt a Hawker hurrikán was one of the representative RAF fighters of WWII. This low-wing monoplane with wide-track retractable landing gear and eight 7.7mm machine guns incorporated proven biplane features such as a tubular frame. Although Hurricanes were outperformed by the Luftwaffe’s more advanced Messerschmitt Bf 109Es, the Battle of Britain in July 1940 saw Spitfires engage escorting Bf109s while Hurricanes went after the bombers. As a result of judicious unit management and pilot bravery, the RAF inflicted heavy losses on the Luftwaffe and were eventually able to claim a hard-fought victory. This Tamiya special release is made up of two manufactures products to give modelers access to one exclusive kit.

A Grumman F7F Tigercat était le premier chasseur lourd bimoteur embarqué américain. Bien que nettement supérieur au F4U Corsair qui était considéré alors comme le meilleur chasseur de la marine, en arrivant que fin 1944, ces avions ne participèrent pas aux combats de la seconde guerre mondiale. Le Tigercat, produit à 362 unités, a été décliné en cinq versions différentes : – le F7F-1 : chasseur de jour monoplace (35 unités) – le F7F-2N : chasseur de nuit biplace (65 unités) – le F7F-3 : chasse de jour/reconnaissance photo (189 unités) – le F7F-3N : chasse de nuit (60 unités) – le F7F-4N : chasseur embarqué (13 unités)

A JS-2 orosz nehéz tartályt a német Tiger I ellen építették. A JS-2, amelyet 1943 decemberében gyártottak a második világháború második felében, hosszú, erős, 122 mm-es löveggel és kiváló páncélzattal rendelkezett. 1944 augusztusától törölték az elülső gleccserek nyílását, ami jelentősen javította frontális védelmét. You can choose to assemble the roof, trunk’s lid, and all four doors in either open or closed positions. The seats have a realistic textured finish. Kit includes a total of 7 figures to enable instant diorama creation straight from the box: 3 Tamiya figures (a standing officer, a seated driver, and a seated general officer) 4 ICM figures (a general officer, an adjutant, a female assistant, and a common soldier)

During WWII, the German army produced many different variants of the Steyr Type 1500A light vehicle. One of these variants was the Kommandeurwagen, which was used as a staff car to transport high ranking officers and commanders. Fitted with an 85hp engine, it had a maximum speed of 100km/h on paved roads. It was equipped with a front torsion bar and rear leaf spring suspension system and was appointed with leather seats. The Tamiya 1/35 scale plastic model kit faithfully brings all the details of the Steyr to life.

Csehszlovákia németországi annektálását követően a német hadsereg módosította a különböző cseh gyártmányú katonai hardvereket, és szolgálatba bocsátotta őket. 1/700 scale plastic assembly kit of the Yorktown (CV-5) as she appeared during the Battle of Midway. Hanger doors may be depicted in open or closed position. Elevator at the stern may be depicted in up or down position. Comes with parts to depict F4F Wildcats, Douglas SBD-3 Dauntlesses, and Douglas TBD-1 Devastators.

A USS Yorktown was completed in September 1937 as the first ship of her namesake-class and the U.S. Navy’s sixth aircraft carrier. When the Pacific War broke out, she became the flagship of Task Force 17 under the command of Rear Admiral Frank J. Fletcher and conducted a number of operations around the Pacific. During the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942, she helped thwart the Japanese Navy’s advance on New Guinea despite suffering severe damage. Subsequently, at the Battle of Midway, the Yorktown and her sister ships USS Enterprise and USS Hornet defeated the Japanese Mobile Fleet, but the Yorktown herself suffered severe damage by torpedo and bomb hits from the aircraft of the Japanese carrier Hiryu. She was finally sunk by torpedoes from the Japanese submarine I-168. The Tamiya 1/700 scale model is a precise replica assembly kit of this iconic carrier during WWII.

1/350 scale plastic assembly kit of the Chikuma before she was refitted with additional AA guns, radar, and air defense command center. Model may be assembled as a full hull model mounted on a display stand or a waterline model. The use of small screws enables secure attachment of the hull and deck. Highly detailed main gun turrets. Gun barrels articulate in 2 different angles. V-shaped ventilator ducts and funnels included. Mast components are made from ABS plastic for greater durability. Photo-etched parts such as aircraft trolleys, catapult rails, and mast braces included. Anchor chains and propeller shafts are made with metal parts. Floatplanes included and come with display stands. Kit includes a Reference Booklet which provides background information for the Chikuma as well as a full color Painting Guide.

A Iljushin Il-2 was one of the most significant ground-attack aircraft of WWII. It incorporated a sturdy monocoque construction and excellent armor protection to make it perfect for ground attack operations. It was initially conceived as a two-seat design but due to weight issues it was re-designed as a lighter single-seat aircraft in 1940. As production began in 1941, the aircraft was designated as the Il-2. Heavy losses of the single-seat aircraft during combat forced the addition of a rear gunner position in 1943. Later variants featured improvements such as swept outer wings for better handling. The Il-2 contributed greatly to the eventual Russian victory over Nazi Germany. Joseph Stalin himself famously noted that the aircraft was as vital to the Russian Army as air and bread.
