Fotogalerija Fairchild PT-193, The Fairchild PT-19 (ime podjetja Fairchild M62) je bilo letalo ameriškega fairchild Aircraft monoplane primarnega trenerja, ki je med drugo svetovno vojno služilo pri letalskih silah Vojske Združenih držav Amerike, RAF in RCAF. Bil je sodobnik kaydetskega trenerja za biplane in ga je USAAF uporabljal med primarnim usposabljanjem za letenje kot uvodni trener pred solo fazo za uvajanje novih pilotov v letenje, preden jih je prenesel na bolj okreten Kaydet. Tako kot pri drugih usaaf trenerjev tega obdobja, je imel PT-19 več označbe, ki temeljijo na vgrajeni elektrarni.

The Fairchild PT-19 was a primary trainer aircraft used by the United States Army Air Corps and its successor, the United States Army Air Forces, during World War II. It was designed by Fairchild Aircraft in 1938 as a low-wing monoplane with an open cockpit and a radial engine. The PT-19 was one of the most widely used trainers in the USAAF, along with the Boeing-Stearman PT-17 and the Ryan PT-22. The PT-19 had a simple and robust construction that made it easy to maintain and repair. It also had excellent handling and flight characteristics that helped novice pilots to master the basics of flying. The PT-19 was nicknamed the “Cradle of Heroes” because it trained thousands of pilots who later flew combat missions in various theaters of war. Some of the notable pilots who learned to fly on the PT-19 include Chuck Yeager, James Stewart, and George H.W. Bush.
