The SdKfz 7 (Sonderkraftfahrzeug 7) was a military halftrack used during World War II by the Wehrmacht.
The development of the SdKfz 7 dates back to a request issued in 1934 for the creation of an eight-tonne half-track (7.87 tons). The vehicle made its first appearance in 1938 and was intended to be used primarily as a tractor for the 88 mm Flak anti-aircraft gun. It could carry up to eight men and a large quantity of equipment, as well as tow up to 8,000 kg. In general, it was equipped with a winch. It was generally considered very useful. It was also set up as a platform for some weapons, which was particularly successful with anti-aircraft weapons (SdKfz 7/1 and SdKfz 7/2). These machines were also used as observation and command vehicles for the V-2 batteries (Vergeltungswaffe 2) (Feuerleitpanzer auf Zugkraftwagen 8t). They have admired their enemies even. The British, in particular, tried to make exact copies of captured vehicles and some vehicles were taken into service after the Second World War.
