Le Jagdpanther (en allemand, lit. Panthère de chasse), ou Jagdpanzer V était un chasseur de chars basé sur le châssis du char Panther construit par l’Allemagne au cours de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il est souvent considéré comme le plus réussi des chasseurs de chars allemands de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Le Jagdpanzer VI, aussi appelé Jagdtiger Ili Panzerjäger Tiger Ausf. B, Sd.Kfz. 186, est un chasseur de chars allemand de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il était basé sur le char lourd Tigre II.

Les Panzerdivisions furent le fer de lance de la Wehrmacht. La Pz.Div. est composé de régiments blindés équipé de Panzer, d’infanterie et aussi de l’artillerie, des transmissions, du génie, etc. Toutefois, le ratio des éléments de la Panzerdivision a évolué au fil du temps. Une Panzerdivision durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale pouvait disposer sur le papier jusqu’à 300 véhicules de combat blindés et d’une force de 15 000 hommes. En 1941, les Panzerdivisions allemandes sont motorisées ; en 1945, les tables d’organisation de ces mêmes unités prévoient des bataillons d’infanterie cyclistes et des unités du train hippomobiles. L’attrition et la trop tardive totale mobilisation du complexe militaro-industriel allemand, ainsi que la nécessité de lever toujours plus d’unités, ont conduit à diminuer le niveau technologique global de l’armée allemande.

Plus grande bataille « industrielle » de l’histoire1, la bataille de Kursk oppose du 5 juillet au 23 août 1943 les forces allemandes aux forces soviétiques sur un immense saillant de 23 000 km² situé au sud-ouest de la Russie, à la limite de l’Ukraine, entre Orel au nord et Belgorod au sud. Elle est l’une des batailles décisives qui ont déterminé l’issue de la Seconde Guerre mondiale sur le continent européen.

Le SdKfz 11 (Sonderkraftfahrzeug 11) était un halftrack militaire allemand utilisé par la Wehrmacht au cours de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il fut initialement conçu en tant que tracteur d’artillerie. Les canons qu’il pouvait tracter allaient du canon antiaérien Flak 43 de 37 mm jusqu’à l’obusier de campagne FH 18 de 105 mm. Sur le terrain, il fut toutefois régulièrement utilisé pour transporter des charges excédant sa capacité théorique. Ce véhicule est peu connu mais joua un rôle crucial dans l’effort de guerre allemand et fut en service du début à la fin de la guerre.

The first infantry support LVT. With the first experience of pacific amphibious operations it was clear heavier firepower than the usual .50 cal guns was needed. Based on the LVT-2, A standing for armored, this fire support version had an armored (6 to 12 mm) hull. It was fitted with a turret nearly identical to that of the Light Tank M3, with a 37 mm Gun M6 in an M44 mount, and also carried two rear-mounted machine guns. 509 units produced. The vehicle’s hull was covered in 6-12mm of armor plate, and the vehicle was powered by a 262 bhp air-cooled petrol engine. Despite the limitations imposed by the turret it could still carry a limited payload of 1,000 lbs of cargo and had a quite respectable speed of 25 mph or land and 6.5 mph in water, and an operational range of 125 miles on land or 75 miles in water.

Les SS-Standarten der Verfügungstruppe (abrégés en SS-St./VT) virent le jour en automne 1934, lorsque les nouveaux régiments SS “Deutschland” et “Germania” furent formés respectivement à partir des Services de garde politiques “München” (Ellwangen) et “Württemberg” (Jagst) d’une part et des Services de garde politiques “Hamburg”, “Arolsen” et “Wolterdingen” d’autre part. La “Stabswache Berlin” et les “SS-Sonderkommandos” Crossen et Jüterbog patrouillent alors à Berlin et dans ses environs. En 1937, ils reçoivent le nom de “1re division SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler”. Après l’Anschluss avec l’Autriche, le nouveau régiment “Der Führer” voit le jour. Il résulte de la fusion des Schutzstaffel germano-autrichiennes et des parties des régiments “Deutschland” et “1re division SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler”. A partir de mars 1935, le terme de “Standarte” est progressivement enlevé du nom du régiment. A partir d’octobre 1938, on ne parle plus de “Standarten der SS-VT” mais de SS-Regimentern. Cette même année, 14 000 hommes compose la Verfügungstruppe1.

Bitka kod Staljingrada vođena je od jula 1942. do 2. februara 1943. godine, za kontrolu nad eponimnim gradom, sada Volgogradom, između snaga Saveza Sovjetskih Socijalističkih Republika i snaga Trećeg rajha. Među njima su približavanje grada od strane nemačkih vojski, urbana borba za njegovo osvajanje, zatim sovjetska kontraofanziva, sve do opkoljenja i predaje nemačkih trupa. Sve ove borbe, u gradu i van grada, rezultirale su smrtnim ishodom od jednog do dva miliona za nešto više od šest meseci, odnosno 4.500 do 9.000 smrtnih slučajeva dnevno.

Les SS-Totenkopfverbände (SS-TV) (formations à tête de mort ou à crâne humain) sont des unités composées des gardes nazis en charge des camps de concentration de l’Allemagne pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. La Totenkopfverbände est partie intégrante de l’Allgemeine-SS avec la Schutzstaffel (SS) et la Waffen-SS. Les Totenkopfverbände prennent part entre autres en 1938 à l’occupation de l’Autriche lors de l’Anschluss puis des Sudètes. Elles sont également activement en oeuvre lors du début de la guerre. La SS-Heimwehr “Danzig” est formée de certaines parties des Totenkopfverbände et connaît quant à elle une modeste expérience du combat.

Inspirisan Vikersima 6-Ton, čija je proizvodna dozvola kupljena od Britanaca, jedan je od najuspešnijih tenkova tridesetih godina prošlog veka. Ona je formirala okosnicu oklopnih snaga Crvene armije 1941.

Tenk Kliment Vorošilov (KV) je sovjetski rezervoar za rupture. To je bilo neprijatno iznenađenje za Vermaht tokom operacije Barbarosa: to je u to vreme bilo gotovo neranjivo za svo svoje naoružanje osim protivavionski pištolj "Flek Flak" od 88 mm i direktnu artiljerijsku paljbu.
