Foi desenvolvido para a Força Aérea dos Estados Unidos (USAF) da década de 1980 até o início da década de 1990 por McDonnell Douglas; a empresa mais tarde se fundiu com a Boeing. Este ano marca o aniversário da Guerra das Malvinas, que ocorreu há 30 anos em 1982, e a Cyber Hobby está comemorando o evento histórico com um segundo kit de escala 1/72 do helicóptero Sea King. Os modeladores receberam entusiasticamente a novíssima variante Westland WS-61 Sea King HC.4 de transporte de tropas, e esse item Cyber-Hobby provou ser um sucesso instantâneo. Este segundo kit retrata o raro helicóptero AEW.2 de alerta aéreo antecipado. O combate na Guerra das Malvinas revelou uma lacuna da AEW na capacidade da Marinha Real (RN), e mesmo enquanto o conflito estava em andamento, a Westland começou a converter dois helicópteros Sea King HAS.2 em maio de 1982. Após o programa de desenvolvimento do acidente, esses dois helicópteros se juntaram à força-tarefa de substituição quando ela zarpou em agosto, embora fossem tarde demais para participar dos combates reais. O AEW.2s apresentava um radar Thorn-EMI ARI 5930/3 Searchwater montado em um radome inflável montado em um braço giratório.

Limited edition of the P-38J Lightning in the 1/48 scale is based on Academy plastic parts. The increasing value of that kit is made by the Eduard additional detailing sets (exclusively included in this kit only). The Eduard Brassin accessories covers the cockpit (pilot’s compartment bay, pilot’s seat, armor plate behind the seat, center wing section, radio equipment), the superchargers (the entire supercharger, plus the supercharger intakes located on the engine sides) and landing gear wheels (including the front wheel, with superb details on their discs, also as the fine tire pattern). The photoetched accessories (colored) contains the instrument panel and seatbelts, air intake strainers and structure of the coolers intakes, landing gear interior and various exterior details. The decal sheet, designed by Eduard and printed by Cartograf features six colorful and attractive markings for Lightnings serving with various USAAF units in the ETO
