ザ パンサルバンドヴァグン 302 (pbv 302) was a Swedish armoured personnel carrier that entered service in 1966 and was retired in 2014. It was designed by Hägglund and Söner to replace the obsolete Pbv 301, which was based on an old tank chassis. The Pbv 302 was a completely new design with a welded steel hull, a Volvo diesel engine and a 20 mm cannon in a one-man turret.
It had a crew of three and could carry eight infantrymen who could fight through roof hatches or dismount through rear doors. The vehicle was amphibious and had excellent off-road mobility thanks to its wide tracks and low ground pressure. It was used by the Swedish Army in various roles, such as infantry fighting, artillery observation, command and control, and anti-tank warfare. The Pbv 302 was eventually replaced by the Stridsfordon 9040 in the 1990s, but some variants remained in service until 2014.
