Das Archer Artillery System oder Archer – FH77BW L52 ist ein internationales Projekt zur Entwicklung eines selbstfahrenden Artilleriesystems der nächsten Generation für Schweden und Norwegen. Herzstück des Systems ist eine vollautomatische 155-mm/L52-Kanonenhaubitze und eine ferngesteuerte Waffenstation, die auf einem modifizierten 6×6-Fahrgestell des geländegängigen Gelenkdumpers Volvo A30D montiert ist. Der Mannschafts- und Motorraum ist schwer gepanzert und die Kabine ist mit kugel- und splittersicheren Fenstern ausgestattet. Darüber hinaus besteht das System aus einem Munitionsversorgungsfahrzeug, einem Unterstützungsfahrzeug, einer BONUS-Sensor-gezündeten Artilleriegranate und dem Lenkgeschoss M982 Excalibur.

The Bofors Archer, or Archer – FH77BW L52, is a highly mobile, fully automated, self-propelled howitzer developed in Sweden. It represents a new generation of wheeled artillery systems designed to deliver rapid, accurate, and protected fire support.

- Main Weapon: The heart of the system is a 155 mm L/52 gun-howitzer, which is a fully automated version of the Bofors FH77 towed howitzer.

- Rapid Deployment: The Archer is designed for “shoot-and-scoot” operations, taking less than 30 seconds to stop and fire the first round, and equally fast to move again after firing. This high speed of action significantly improves survivability.
Performance Capabilities
- Ammunition: It carries 21 complete rounds in an automated magazine, and can fire all NATO-standard 155 mm ammunition.

- With standard high-explosive rounds, the range is approximately 30 km.
- Using extended range or base bleed ammunition, the range increases to over 40 km.
- With precision-guided munitions like the M982 Excalibur, its range extends beyond 50 km.
- Rate of Fire: The system can achieve a high rate of fire, including a burst of three rounds in under 20 seconds.
- MRSI Capability: It is capable of Multiple Round Simultaneous Impact (MRSI), where multiple shells are fired at different trajectories to all land on the target at the same time.
