«Kronprinz», WWI German Battleship

En modell av varumärket Icm : satsen Kronprinz – German Battleship – ICM S003.

Battleship “Kronprinz” served with Kaiser German Navy of WWI period. She belonged to the “König” class ships. “Kronprinz” was commissioned 8.11.1914 and entered the 3rd Squadron of Open See Fleet (Hochseeflotte). The battleship took part in many actions against the British Navy and fought in Battle of Jutland (May 31 – June 1, 1916). She was 4th ship in the battle line and had not hits. On November 5, 1916 “Kronprinz” survived a direct torpedo hit fired by the British submarine J-1. On March, 5, 1917 she was involved in a collision at sea with her sistership – the “Grosser Kurfürst”. After repair “Kronprinz” took part in Moonsund operation at Baltic Sea against Russian Navy in September-October 1917. On June 15, 1918 the ship was renamed as “Kronprinz Wilhelm”. After the armistice was signed, “Kronprinz Wilhelm” was interned by alliances at Scapa Flow, were crew sank her on June 21, 1919. The three-axle off-road passenger car G4 (W31) was designed dy Daimler-Benz in 1934. This car had 8-cylinder engine of 100 (later 110) hp and 6 passenger seats. The car was intended for the German army but it appeared very expansive and too complicated for the mass production. There were produced only 72 G4 cars up to the 1939. This gun had good ballistic characteristics, but vas too heavy and complicate for the mass productions. In 1941-1942 the large amount of F-22 guns was captured by German army. Den Supermarine Spiteful was a British Rolls-Royce Griffon-engined fighter aircraft. In late 1942, Supermarine designers feared the drag characteristics of the Spitfire’s wing at high Mach numbers (nearing the speed of sound) might become a limiting factor in increasing the aircraft’s high-speed performance. To overcome this, it was decided to produce a new laminar-flow wing, much like that already used on the North American P-51 Mustang, Another change, to improve the ground-handling, was replacing the Spitfire’s narrow-track, outward-retracting undercarriage with a wider-track, inward-retracting system. as it was now substantially different from a Spitfire, the aircraft was named Spiteful.

Den F8F Bearcat was the last of Grumman’s piston-engine carrier-based fighters. Two XF8F-1 prototypes were ordered in November 1943, and the first of these was flown on 21 August 1944. Grumman decided once again to utilize the most powerful engine available at the time, the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp — the same engine that had powered both their Hellcat and Tigercat designs. This time, the engine was fitted to the smallest, lightest airframe that could be built. This resulted in a highly maneuverable, fast airplane with a rate of climb 30% greater than the Hellcat.

Germany began to build the modern army after 1933. The important part of Wehrmacht motorization was manufacturing of three-axle 3 t trucks. The most numerous of them was Henschel 33. It was in production lines since 1934 to 1942. The modification D1 had 6-cyl. petrol engine. All in all there were produced about 22000 Henschel 33. Some chassis had special bodies. One of them was Kfz.72 van body. These machines were used as transmitters and receivers in the powerful A/B mobile radio stations.
