The Saab 340 AEW is a cost-effective Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform derived from the Saab 340 twin-turboprop regional airliner. It was developed to provide nations with a reliable, medium-range airborne radar and command system. Its most defining feature is the fixed, dorsal antenna known as the Ericsson ERIEYE radar.
