ATS-59G Improvements
The original ATS-59 had a small two-person cab. The ATS-59G was developed to address this and featured a significantly larger, fully enclosed cab, which could seat up to 7 people (driver + 6 passengers). This allowed the entire artillery crew to be transported with the piece they were towing, rather than sitting exposed on the cargo platform.
Additionally, the ‘G’ model included an NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) overpressure system for crew protection.
