She was the seventh ship of the United States Navy to be named in honor of the sixth state, and one of two ships of her class (along with her sister Alabama) to be donated for use as a museum ship. Massachusetts has the distinction of having fired the US Navy’s first and last 16-in (406 mm) shells of the war.

Fotogalerij van een V-2 Raket, The V-2 (German: Vergeltungswaffe 2, “Retribution Weapon 2”), technical name Aggregat 4 (A4), was the world’s first long-range guided ballistic missile. The missile with a liquid-propellant rocket engine was developed during the Second World War in Germany as a “vengeance weapon,” designed to attack Allied cities as retaliation for the Allied bombings against German cities. The V-2 rocket also became the first artificial object to cross the boundary of space with the vertical launch of MW 18014 on 20 June 1944.

Fotogalerij van een 2S1 Gvozdika, The 2S1 Gvozdika (Russisch: 2С1 «Гвоздика», "Anjer") is een Sovjet-zelfrijdende houwitser gebaseerd op het chassis MT-LB APC, waarbij de 122 mm 2A18 houwitser wordt gemonteerd. "2S1" is de aanduiding GRAU. Een alternatieve Russische aanduiding is SAU-122, maar in het Russische leger is het algemeen bekend als Gvozdika. De 2S1 is volledig amfibisch met zeer weinig voorbereiding, en eenmaal drijvend wordt hij voortgestuwd door zijn sporen. Er is ook een verscheidenheid aan bredere tracks beschikbaar, zodat de 2S1 in sneeuw- of moerasomstandigheden kan werken. Het is NBC-beveiligd en heeft infrarood nachtzicht.

It was the lead vehicle and the fire support type in the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked), CVR(T), family of seven armoured vehicles. Manufactured by Alvis, it was introduced into service with the British Army in 1973 and served until 1994. More than 3,000 were produced and used as a reconnaissance vehicle or a light tank. It holds the Guinness world record for the fastest production tank; recorded doing 82.23 km/h (51.10 mph) at the QinetiQ vehicle test track, Chertsey, Surrey, on 26 January 2002.

De Noord-Amerikaanse F-100 Super Sabre was een Amerikaans supersonisch straaljagervliegtuig dat van 1954 tot 1971 diende bij de United States Air Force (USAF) en tot 1979 bij de Air National Guard (ANG). De eerste van de Century Series van USAF straaljagers, het was de eerste USAF jager in staat tot supersonische snelheid in level flight. De F-100 werd ontworpen door North American Aviation als een vervolg op de F-86 Sabre lucht superioriteit jager.
