Teh Μιτσουμπίσι A6M "Μηδέν" είναι μαχητικό αεροσκάφος μεγάλου βεληνεκούς που κατασκευάστηκε στο πλαίσιο της Mitsubishi Aircraft Company, μέρος της Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, και λειτουργούσε από το Αυτοκρατορικό Ιαπωνικό Ναυτικό από το 1940 έως το 1945. Το A6M ορίστηκε ως μαχητικό αεροσκάφος Τύπου 0 του Ναυτικού mitsubishi (零式艦上戦闘機 ρέι-σίκι-κάνιο-sentōki), ή το Mitsubishi A6M Rei-sen. Το A6M αναφέρεται συνήθως από τους πιλότους του ως «Reisen» (μηδενικό μαχητικό), το «0» είναι το τελευταίο ψηφίο του αυτοκρατορικού έτους 2600 (1940) όταν τέθηκε σε υπηρεσία με το Αυτοκρατορικό Ναυτικό. Το επίσημο συμμαχικό όνομα αναφοράς ήταν "Zeke", αν και η χρήση του ονόματος "Μηδέν" υιοθετήθηκε αργότερα και από τους Συμμάχους.

During the 1960’s, the Israeli Ordnance Corps upgraded their M4A1 Sherman tanks by equipping them with the powerful French 105mm CN-105-F1 tank gun and they were redesignated as M51s. The larger gun meant a muzzle brake was installed to minimize the greater recoil effect and a counterweight was fitted to the rear of the turret. The 460hp diesel engine and the combination of the Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension (HVSS) and wider T80 tracks gave the M51 improved mobility. During the Six-Day War in 1967, the M51s were used against newer T-54/55 tanks as well as JS-3 tanks from Egyptian, Iraqi, and Syrian armies. The M51’s 105mm gun could take on these adversaries by using HEAT ammunition. After the war, these M51s continued to serve with distinction until they were finally retired in the early 1980s.

The US Army entered WWII with the M3 Stuart Light Tank, which worked well, but was tall and noisy. Not ideal features of a reconnaissance vehicle and not rectified in the later M5 series. A new Light Tank was specified in 1943 using the M5 powertrain, but with a sleek new hull and turret. This was to emerge as the Light Tank M24. The noisy VVSS was replaced with a new torsion bar suspension, and weight was kept to 20 tons. Firepower was greatly increased by mounting a light weight 75mm gun using the same ammunition as the M4 Sherman. The M24 was well received by its crews, but it arrived too late to see much action, the first tanks arriving in Europe by November 1944. A few were passed on to the British and Free French before the war ended. Armour was up to 25mm thick and the road speed up to 56k/mh, maximum road range was 161 kilometers. A total of 4,731 M24’s were built by the end of WWII. The chassis was used for a whole range of Self-Propelled Guns and weapon carriers.

Dragon has released a 1/35 scale kit of “Coelian” before, but now it has become more attractive than ever! As an Orange Box item, the kit has been upgraded. The kit is equipped with a new set of Panther Magic Tracks, but most useful of all perhaps is the inclusion of a set of figures. The 1/35 figure set is a set of four German tank riders. They are totally suited to the vehicle, for they are late-war figures designed specially to fit on a Panther engine deck. With the bundled figures, this Flakpanzer V “Coelian” is an extremely attractive proposition that comes at a very reasonable price.
The Panther was a hugely successful tank within the ranks of the German military during WWII. A number of variants based on the Panther were built, including the Bergepanther recovery vehicle. However, there are other lesser-known variants that didn’t enter full-series production, one of which was the Flakpanzer V. Rheinmetall-Borsig began developing this antiaircraft vehicle in December 1943. Its main armament was twin 3.7cm FlaK 43 cannons mounted in an armored turret with a full 360^(o) traverse. One other feature of the turret was that it permitted the guns to be elevated almost vertically when taking on marauding enemy aircraft. The official designation of the vehicle was Flakpanzer 341, but it was commonly referred to as the Flakpanzer V “Coelian”.

Το FlaKPanzer v Coelian ήταν μια γερμανική πρωτότυπη αντιαεροπορική πυροβολαρχία τοποθετημένη σε σασί άρματος μάχης Panzer V. Ένα ζευγάρι πυροβόλων Flak 43 των 37 χιλιοστών έπρεπε να τοποθετηθεί στον πυργίσκο του άρματος, αυτά τα πυροβόλα δημιούργησαν μια μεγάλη μάζα θραυσμάτων κατά την έκρηξη που δεν απαιτούσε άμεσο χτύπημα στο στοχευόμενο αεροσκάφος.
