Le Pansarbandvagn 301 (pbv 301) était un véhicule blindé de transport de troupes suédois utilisé par l’armée suédoise. C’était un « taxi de combat », armed with a 20 mm Bofors gun from the scrapped J21-fighters and with room for transporting 8 fully armed soldiers. The pbv 301 was an interim solution, built on the chassis from the obsolete Stridsvagn m/41, introduced in 1961 and removed from service in the late 1960s and early 1970s when the replacement pbv 302 came into use. The pbv 301 replaced the open-topped KP-bil armoured car as the armoured troop transport in the Swedish Army.

Plus d’infos:

The Pansarbandvagn 301 (pbv 301) was a Swedish armoured personnel carrier (APC) that entered service in 1961. It was based on the chassis of the Stridsvagn m/41, a light tank of Czechoslovak origin that was obsolete by the 1950s. The pbv 301 was designed to transport a squad of eight panzergrenadiers, or mechanized infantry, and provide fire support with a 20 mm Bofors cannon mounted on a remote-controlled cupola. The vehicle had a welded steel hull with a sloped front and sides, and a rear door for access.
The engine was located in the front left corner, and the driver and commander sat on the right side. The pbv 301 had a leaf spring suspension and could reach a maximum speed of 45 km/h on roads. The pbv 301 was the first tracked APC in Swedish service, and the first infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) in the world to have a fully enclosed troop compartment. It was intended as an interim solution until a more advanced model, the pbv 302, was developed. The pbv 301 was used by the Swedish Army until the early 1970s, when it was replaced by the pbv 302. Some variants of the pbv 301 were also produced, such as the slpbv 3011 command vehicle and the epbv 3012 artillery observer vehicle.
