O K18 de 5,6 toneladas era de calibre de 10,5 cm e era baseado no carro de reboque de alta velocidade do s.FH.18. Projetado para ser uma peça de artilharia média de longo alcance, era a arma padrão em batalhões de artilharia média. A arma tinha um alcance de 20.850 jardas, e permaneceu em serviço durante toda a guerra. Uma tripulação de dez pessoas operou este obuseiro que foi introduzido pela primeira vez em 1934. Este kit é naturalmente baseado no obuseiro s.FH.18 original da Dragon, por isso oferece todos os seus componentes relevantes e precisos, como o transporte. Novo para este kit é uma culatra altamente precisa, bloco de culatra e cano de arma de alumínio. Produced to an accurate 1/35 scale, the kit contains many upgraded parts such as photo-etched components for intricate pieces (for example, spare-track tie-downs, fuel tank straps, and engine louvers and grills), plus a metal gun barrel. For sheer convenience, there are Magic Tracks too. What makes this kit even more versatile is its 2-in-1 nature, for it permits either an SU-85M or an SU-100 Early Production vehicle to be built. Thus, alternative parts such as fenders, gun barrels and gun shields are all included in the box. The city of Kharkov, the Soviet Union’s third largest city, was the site of three heated battles during WWII. The city in southern Russia was initially captured by attacking German forces in 1941. In 1942 it was the object of a failed Soviet offensive, and then it changed hands twice in 1943 before being finally regained by the Red Army in August. In the course of these battles, 70% of the city was destroyed. Dragon has released a new set of 1/35 scale figures that relate to the so-called Second Battle of Kharkov in May 1942. The Soviets launched an offensive against the German 6th Army to recapture Kharkov, but German forces successfully countered it and cut off Soviet troops with a bold pincer movement. More than 200,000 Soviet troops were killed or captured in the “Barvenkovo mousetrap” near Kharkov, amounting to a huge debacle for the Red Army. Dragon’s new box of figures represents four German soldiers during this decisive battle of 1942. It shows soldiers preparing to move forward to join the battle in the vicinity of Kharkov, and they wear typical uniform and paraphernalia relating to this period of 1942. Three of the figures wear standard Wehrmacht uniforms, while the fourth member of the party belongs to a Luftwaffe ground unit. They carry a variety of weapons, including a gunner with an MG34. Around his neck is slung a pair of drum magazines for his weapon. Indeed, all their weapons and personal equipment are produced to Gen2 standard. While the figures are linked directly to the Kharkov fighting, they still remain versatile enough to be used in a multitude of other settings as well. Thus, these finely posed figures are readymade for a creative German vignette.

Este novo kit plástico 1/35 mostra uma variante de produção inicial deste destruidor de tanques. Com base no item nº 6420 emitido anteriormente, ele é precisamente ferramentado e detalhado. O que torna este item notável é a inclusão de Zimmerit no veículo. Esta pasta especial foi adicionada aos cascos dos veículos para evitar que minas magnéticas aderissem. Para renderizar corretamente este revestimento Zimmerit, todas as partes relevantes, como a superestrutura do compartimento de combate, glacis, laterais do casco e para-lamas foram refeitos. O revestimento é bem renderizado, e economizará horas de trabalho entorpecente para os modeladores tentando reproduzir essa textura usando massa. Este kit vem, portanto, com uma boa combinação de qualidade de engenharia e conveniência de economia de tempo!
