Adam Makos on ajakirjanik, ajaloolane ja sõjaväeajakirja toimetaja, Valor. Oma viieteistkümneaastase töö jooksul sõjalises valdkonnas on Makos intervjueerinud lugematuid veterane II maailmasõjast, Koreast, Vietnamist ja praegustest sõdadest. Ta on lennanud õhujõududega pommitajaga B-17, hävitajaga T-38 ja oli üks väheseid ajakirjanikke, kellel oli privileeg uurida Air Force One'i koos selle pilootidega. Lugu otsides kohtus Makos presidentidega, sõi prints Charlesiga teed ja tuuritas Ameerika vägedega Koreas DMZ piiril. Tema töö kõrgpunkt toimus 2008. aastal, kui Makos sõitis Iraaki, et saata 101. õhudessant- ja armee erijõude Al Qaeda terroristide jahil.
