The Mil Mi-1 Hare helicopter was a pioneering design in the history of Soviet aviation. It was the first helicopter to enter serial production in the USSR, and it served in various roles for both military and civilian purposes. The Mi-1 was powered by a single Ivchenko AI-26V radial piston engine, which delivered 575 hp and drove a three-bladed main rotor. The helicopter had a maximum speed of 185 km/h and a range of 430 km. It could carry up to four people, including the pilot, in a single cabin. The Mi-1 was first flown on September 20, 1948, and entered service in 1950. It was produced until 1965, with more than 2,500 units built in the Soviet Union and Poland. The Mi-1 was exported to several countries, including China, Egypt, Finland, Hungary and Yugoslavia.
