Viac info:

The USS Bowfin submarine is a historic vessel that served in the Pacific Theater of World War II. It was launched on December 7, 1942, exactly one year after the attack on Pearl Harbor, and earned the nickname “Pearl Harbor Avenger” for its role in sinking 44 enemy ships during its nine war patrols. The Bowfin was decommissioned in 1947 and became a museum ship in 1981. It is now part of the Pearl Harbor National Memorial in Hawaii, where visitors can tour its interior and learn about its history and legacy.
