An armoured recovery vehicle (ARV) is a type of vehicle recovery armoured fighting vehicle used to repair battle- or mine-damaged as well as broken-down armoured vehicles during combat, or to tow them out of the danger zone for more extensive repairs. To this end the term “Armoured Repair and Recovery Vehicle” (ARRV) is also used.

The M32 Recovery Vehicle is a specialized armored vehicle designed to recover damaged or disabled tanks and other heavy vehicles from the battlefield. It is based on the chassis of the M4 Sherman tank and equipped with a crane, a winch, and a spade. The M32 can tow up to 40 tons of weight and lift up to 15 tons with its crane. The M32 also has a 75 mm howitzer and a .50 caliber machine gun for self-defense. The M32 was used extensively by the US Army and Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War, as well as by several allied nations. The M32 proved to be a valuable asset for maintaining the mobility and combat effectiveness of armored units.
