USS Preble has participated in several operations and exercises since her commissioning, including Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC), Valiant Shield, Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT), and Malabar. She has also conducted freedom of navigation operations in the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait, as well as ballistic missile defense missions in the Pacific region.
