De Agusta A129 Mangusta (English: Mongoose) is an attack helicopter originally designed and produced by Italian company Agusta. It is the first attack helicopter to be designed and produced wholly in Europe. It has continued to be developed by AgustaWestland, the successor company to Agusta. The A129 has undergone several combat deployments since entering service with the Italian Army in the 1990s. A derivative of the A129, the TAI/AgustaWestland T129 ATAK, is being developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) in cooperation with AgustaWestland. TAI will produce the T129 for the Turkish Army and potentially export customers.

Meer info:

The Agusta A129 Mangusta is a light attack helicopter that was developed by the Italian company Agusta in the 1980s. It is the first helicopter of its kind to be designed and produced entirely in Western Europe, and it has been used by the Italian Army for various missions, such as anti-tank, close air support, reconnaissance, and escort. The Mangusta, which means Mongoose in English, has a tandem cockpit with a gunner in the front and a pilot in the back, both protected by armored seats and bulletproof glass.
The helicopter has a narrow fuselage made of composite materials, and two stub wings that can carry different types of weapons, such as rockets, missiles, machine guns, or cannons. The Mangusta is powered by two turboshaft engines that drive a five-blade main rotor and a four-blade tail rotor. The helicopter has advanced avionics and sensors, including night vision, laser designator, and FLIR system. The Mangusta has been upgraded several times since its introduction in 1990, and it has also been exported to other countries under the name T129 ATAK.
