The FV180 Combat Engineer Tractor (CET) is a versatile vehicle designed to perform a range of engineering tasks on the battlefield. It can clear obstacles, dig trenches, fill craters, tow vehicles, lay mines, and breach minefields. The CET is based on a modified version of the FV432 armoured personnel carrier chassis, with a hydraulically operated front-mounted dozer blade and a rear-mounted excavator arm. The CET is also equipped with a winch, a smoke grenade launcher, and a 7.62 mm machine gun for self-defense. The CET has a crew of two: a driver and an operator. The CET can operate in various terrains and climates, and can be transported by air or sea. The CET has been in service with the British Army since 1976, and has seen action in various conflicts such as the Falklands War, the Gulf War, the Iraq War, and the Afghanistan War. The CET is expected to be replaced by the Terrier armoured engineer vehicle in the near future.
