The A-90 Orlyonok (Russian: Орлёнок, English: “Eaglet”) is a Soviet ekranoplan (a ground effect vehicle) that was designed by Rostislav Evgenievich Alexeyev of the Central Hydrofoil Design Bureau. The A-90 uses ground effect to fly a few meters above the surface. The Russians classify it as Ekranoplan Class B – it can achieve an altitude of 3,000 m (9,800 ft), placing between Class A – which is limited to ground effect, and Class C, which exploits the ground effect only during take-offs and landings.

It was designed by Rostislav Alexeyev in the 1970s as a transport and assault vehicle for the Soviet Navy. The A-90 Orlyonok has a wingspan of 37.6 meters and a length of 58.1 meters. It can carry up to 150 passengers or 28 tons of cargo. It is powered by four turbojet engines, two mounted on the tail and two on the front canards.
The A-90 Orlyonok can fly at speeds of up to 400 km/h and has a range of 1,500 km. It can operate from both land and water, and can take off and land on rough seas. The A-90 Orlyonok was intended to be used for amphibious invasions, coastal defense, and rapid troop deployment. Only five A-90 Orlyonoks were built, and only one remains operational today. The A-90 Orlyonok is one of the largest and most advanced ekranoplans ever created.
