Per saperne di più:

Le Breve Sandringham was a civil flying boat that was derived from the Short Sunderland, a military flying boat used for maritime patrol during the Second World War. The Sandringham was produced by Short Brothers, a British aircraft manufacturer, as a conversion of surplus Sunderland aircraft for civilian use. The first Sandringham flew in January 1943 and entered service with British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC), which operated them on long-range routes to Australia and other destinations.
The Sandringham had four Pratt & Whitney R 1830/90C Twin Wasp engines, each producing 1,200 horsepower, and could carry up to 45 passengers. The Sandringham had a wingspan of 34.38 meters, a length of 26 meters, a height of 10.02 meters, and a maximum takeoff weight of 27,220 kilograms. It had a maximum speed of 332 kilometers per hour, a service ceiling of 3,000 meters, and a range of 3,945 kilometers. The Sandringham was retired from service in 1974 by Ansett Flying Boat Services, the last operator of the type. Only three Sandringhams are preserved today, one of which is the Bermuda F-OBIP at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace in France.
