The Fokker S.14 Machtrainer was a jet-powered trainer aircraft developed by the Dutch company Fokker for the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) in the 1950s. It was one of the first aircraft designed specifically for jet training, and the first jet aircraft designed in the Netherlands. The Machtrainer had a side-by-side seating arrangement for the instructor and the student, and was powered by a single Rolls-Royce Derwent VIII turbojet engine. The Machtrainer had a maximum speed of 730 km/h and a service ceiling of 11,200 m. The RNLAF ordered 20 Machtrainers and used them from 1955 to 1967. Fokker hoped to sell the Machtrainer to other countries, and even negotiated with Fairchild in the US and Brazil for license production, but no other orders were placed. The Machtrainer was a unique and innovative aircraft that paved the way for future jet trainers.
