Photo gallery of an Infanterie Schlepper UE 630 (f) , The Renault UE Chenillette was a light tracked armoured carrier and prime mover produced by France between 1932 and 1940. During the Fall of France, about 3000 UE and UE2s had been captured by the German Wehrmacht. Most were employed unmodified, after an overhaul by the AMX (Atelier de Construction d’Issy-les-Moulineaux) factory under guidance of the German MAN-company, as tractors for the 37 mm, 50 mm and, ultimately, 75 mm and 76.2 mm anti-tank guns: the Infanterie UE-Schlepper 630(f), which also was used to tow light and even heavy infantry guns.

Lisainfo:

The Infanterie Schlepper UE 630 was a light tracked armoured carrier used by the German army during World War II. It was based on the French Renault UE Chenillette, which was captured and modified by the Germans after the invasion of France in 1940. The Infanterie Schlepper UE 630 had a crew of two and could carry up to six infantrymen or 600 kg of cargo. It was armed with a 7.92 mm MG 34 machine gun mounted on a ball mount on the front of the vehicle. The Infanterie Schlepper UE 630 was mainly used for reconnaissance, towing light artillery pieces, transporting ammunition and supplies, and laying communication cables. It had a maximum speed of 30 km/h and a range of 125 km. It was protected by 9 mm of armour on the front and 6 mm on the sides and rear. The Infanterie Schlepper UE 630 was produced in several variants, such as the UE 630 (f) with a French engine, the UE 630 (b) with a Belgian engine, and the UE 630 (r) with a radio set. The Infanterie Schlepper UE 630 was widely distributed among the German units on all fronts, especially in North Africa and Russia. It was also exported to some of Germany’s allies, such as Italy, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria.
